Bleaklow run with Claire and Ted…

Yesterday saw a great run with Claire and Ted the dog from Old Glossop up to the summit of Bleaklow and back again via Doctor’s Gate. A bit of a hard run in places but with great views. A funny incident was seen in Claire losing the sole of one of her Walsh trail boots, [...]

Today I am mostly Cobley… With a touch of shorts…

Today I am feeling quite Cobley and all that entails; whilst wearing a pair of cotton shorts in a sort of colonial style. I am sat in The Soup Seller in Glossop, a merry cafe whose pleasant environment has now been interrupted by a load of sprogs, and my karma is no longer calm. If [...]

A great weekend of walking…

The Bank Holiday weekend just gone saw some great walking, and with good company and banter. Sunday saw a nice walk up to Bleaklow from Old Glossop and back again, taking in the Pennine Way and Doctor’s Gate. Whilst there was rain and drizzle, the views were spectacular and the walk over 12 miles: http://cyclemeter.com/b88ee4dd4e9a0211/Hike-20140525-1112 [...]

Yesterday was a strange day… One Yank, One Bose, Some cats, A pub, and dinner.

Yesterday was fun to say the least, and in beautiful weather. So, let me begin. I got up, yawned, then headed off from Glossop to Shrigley Hall Hotel next to Bollington to pick up my Yank friend, Brian, over on business. We then drove via a stop off at Buxton to his hotel outside of [...]

A walk in the Yorkshire Dales.

Up early, and getting ready for a walk in the Yorkshire Dales starting from Austwick, picking up Mr Pete Higgins first and then Mr Steve Baker. Looking forward to it, but coffee is needed after not a great night’s sleep. http://www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/outandabout/dalesandtowns/malhamdaleribblesdalesettle/claphamaustwick Tweet

A nice morning run from Glossop to Gamesley Wood

A lovely 6 mile run this morning to Gamesley Forest and back again to Glossop. Really enjoyed it, and the bridleway in the forest was near enough empty. All part of my getting fit and losing weight! Tweet
