A break from drinking… well actually giving it up

The HangoverThe time has come dear friends and acquaintances for me to give up drinking. At the tender age of 41 (42 this September) I have come to the conclusion that it is time to hang up the drinking hat and finally stop. A blow? Not really. Though a blow for the brewing industry mind you, and for real ale pubs in Macclesfield.

But on a serious note I have made the decision, so don’t tempt me with anything apart from a smoothie with a nice umbrella for example. And I really mean that.

Why? some of you will ask. Well, for me, it is time to stop.

And does this mean I will be duller than normal? No not at all. I certainly intend to develop a mischievous sense of humour.

    Good on you.

I stopped for January and felt amazing. By the end of the month I didn’t miss it at all.

Sleep was the best thing. Long deep, peaceful sleeps. The sort of rest you need with two kids and a business to run. I loved it.

Then I slowly got back into it again.

While I suppose I enjoy drinking, my sleeping patterns are rubbish.

And if you need anymore proof, here I am reading your blog at 6am on a Saturday!

    Good luck Cobblers!
